HP JetDirect 300X 可以把老式串口打印机通过 Tcp/Ip 界面共享出来，比网上邻居可靠和方便得多。但是这款打印共享器设置方式特别奇怪，这里记录作为备忘参考。原文参考 How to configure an HP JetDirect 300X print server 。
- Set the DIP switches on the back as follows:
Man / Auto = MAN = UP
10 / 100 = 10 = DOWN
Full / Half = Half = DOWN - Press and hold the TEST button on the top while plugging in the power.
- After 5 seconds, let go of the TEST button. (This sets everything to default)
- Unplug the 300X and plug in a CAT-5 cable to your network (Needs a DHCP Server..)
- Connect up a printer to the server.
- Power up the 300X server.
- After about 30 seconds, press the TEST button on the 300X, and the server configuration will print out.
- Note the IP address.
- Telnet to the above IP address. And configure the server.
- Give it a static IP, and turn off unnecessary protocols.
使用共享出来的打印机时，一般这样搞：
- Add a printer
- Add a local port Type: TCP and use the address above.
- Follow the prompts, and you are done!
